Our Story
Flagship Properties, Commercial Sales & Leasing, was founded in Greenville, South Carolina in 2008 by local real estate businessman Benji Smith at the height of the Great Recession. In 2010, Flagship Properties acquired Riverside Property Management, and in 2011 added a Residential division of seasoned agents, enabling the company to be a full-service real estate company of Commercial, Property Management, and Residential services.
Jon Pickhardt, a leader within the Greater Greenville Association of Realtors (GGAR), partnered with Smith in 2011 as General Manager of Property Management and Residential Sales. Smith and Pickhardt acquired boutique property management company Rent The Upstate in 2012, ultimately achieving an increased presence on Greenville’s Eastside. Flagship Property Management is now a leading property management company serving the Greater Greenville area.
Smith and Pickhardt continued their real estate business expansion in 2013 by acquiring ownership and commercial operations of The Office Centers – the largest privately owned executive suites company in the Upstate of South Carolina.
2020 was the height of COVID-19, but with eyes on the future Flagship acquired Convergent Property Group’s property management business, gaining market share and enhanced services for its clients and residents.
Commercial Real Estate brokerage is the foundation of Flagship, and its Commercial brokers are well versed in the real estate fields of healthcare, office, retail, industrial and land transactions. In addition, Flagship’s commercial sales and leasing have fueled the synergy of growth of Commercial Property Management services to Flagship’s existing managed portfolio of residential and multi-family homes.
Through organic growth and acquisitions, as well as the experience and key efforts of dedicated real estate brokers, agents, managers, and staff, Flagship Properties, Flagship Commercial and Flagship Property Management have become a prominent full-service real estate company in the Upstate of South Carolina.
