H. Benjamin Smith III, President / Broker-in-Charge

A South Carolina native, Benji Smith is the guiding voice of the Flagship Group. After becoming a licensed realtor in 1994 Benji returned to his home state in 1997 to live and work on Greenville’s Eastside with his wife, Nancy M. Netter, M.D., where they raise their two teenage sons. With almost a decade of experience in selling residential properties he became Broker in Charge at Coldwell Banker in 2002, where he managed a large team of up to 42 agents, and managed over $700 million of real estate transactions.

Benji’s career reached new heights in 2008 when he founded Flagship Properties as a Commercial Sales and Leasing company and quickly set about building a dream team of experienced realtors while at the same time expanding the portfolio of the business. With Executive Vice President Jon Pickhardt, he added the Residential Division, purchased Riverside Property Management (now Flagship Property Management) in 2010, and in 2013 acquired the executive office suites companies The Office Center, LLC and Merovan Office Center, Inc. with business partner Lawrence Fischer. Under Smith’s guidance and strong vision Flagship Properties has grown into an industry-leading company in the Greenville region, with a broad base of expertise and experience in every aspect of real estate sales, leasing and management.

Naturally Benji is an important voice in the Greenville community. In his professional life he devotes much of his time to Greater Greenville by serving on the local Association of Realtors Commercial Alliance Steering Committee and the Shannon Forest Christian School School Board of Athletics. Benji is the founding member of The Flagship Triathlete Team and is an avid coastal fisherman.

Benji believes that the strength of Flagship is not only in the quality of the team he manages, but also in the unique set of skills he is able to bring to the table. With many years of experience in South Carolina real estate, Benji has built a strong networking base that reaches all areas of Greenville County and beyond, and it’s those personal and professional connections that allow Flagship to reach ever new heights.
